West Main Tram trail is elevated, and traverses mature, beautiful landscape, giving the illusion that one is fully immersed in the swamp while remaining a good distance from it. Large, majestic cypress trees canopy the area, while unusual bromeliads and orchids adorn the limbs and branches beneath. One also gets a glimpse into historic Everglades pioneering life when passing by traditional Cracker cabins and plucking a ripe orange from the trees that were planted here decades ago. The Introduction to the Everglades Dry Walk is the perfect tour for those who prefer to maintain more distance between themselves and the surrounding swamp.
